Sina Typeface
Sina Font was developed in the second Khatt Foundation Type Design workshop at Tashkeel covering the complex process of Arabic typeface design, from the creative inception phase, to drawing the letterforms, to learning font authoring tools and producing a digital Arabic font. The workshop culminated in the publication of the Arabic Type Design for Beginners, an Illustrated Guidebook by Khatt Books edited by Huda Smitshuijzen-AbiFarès. The book presents step-by-step instructions on the design principles and tools of Arabic type design, with detailed tutorials by some of the most renown specialists in the field of contemporary Arabic type design. In addition, it showcases the creative process through case studies of the fonts produced during these workshops. These fonts are presented as sources of inspiration for new and experimental Arabic typefaces. In addition to my typeface the book also features my photos and documentation.
