Distinguished Achievement in Research Award
Absolutely honored to have received the faculty award for distinguished achievement in research from VCUarts Qatar. This is a special day because my two wonderfully talented and extremely brilliant colleagues and powerful fabulous women Denielle Emans and Summer Al-Jarrah Bateiha both received awards for excellence in teaching. I couldn’t have been more honored to stand on stage with such amazing women who embody what it means to be successful, dedicated and super humble.
This is an excerpt from Dean Baker’s intro before announcing my award:
The awardee has maintained a sustained research practice since she joined VCUarts Qatar. Her research plays an invaluable role in promoting specialist knowledge about Arab culture, the calligraphic script and Egyptian visual culture.
